The gameplay in The Lord of the Rings is slightly different than other LEGO games developed by TT Games. However, players who have previously purchased the game digitally are still able to access them.
On January 1, 2019, the game, along with LEGO The Hobbit: The Video Game, were both removed from all digital online storefronts, including the PlayStation Store, the Xbox 360 Marketplace, and Steam, and are no longer listed on The LEGO Group’s website. The game came out for iOS on November 7, 2013, almost a year after its regular release. The Mac OS X version was published by Feral Interactive and was released on February 21st, 2013.
